What is a synthetic duvet?

Synthetic duvets are a kind of duvets made of silicone materials and fibers that do not occur naturally in nature but are the result of polymers chemical processes. The synthetic duvet is also colloquially referred to as a silicone duvet or polyester duvet made of thin fibers with thermal insulation equivalent to their counterparts made of natural materials including down and feathers. The synthetic quilt usually has a sheath made of polyester or microfiber or, less frequently, of a mixture of synthetic fibers and cotton called polycotton.

The most important advantages of duvet made of synthetic materials are high durability, low cost of manufacture, convenience of use and anti-allergic properties – that is, no allergens in the raw materials used for production. The choice of quilts made of synthetic materials should be considered because incorrect selection of thermal characteristics of such quilts can lead to excessive overheating of the body during sleep.
