Silicon duvet is a common name of duvets with inserts made of synthetic granulate of polyester fibers coated with a thin layer of silicone. Synthetic fibers have thermal properties suitable for maintaining the right temperature and thermal insulation, and covering them with a layer of silicone improves their mechanical properties, giving them elasticity and increasing resistance to crushing. Silicon fiber duvets are also more comfortable to maintain and care at home then classic feather duvet. Silicone (polyester) duvet are also characterized by properties that predispose them to use by allergy sufferers and people allergic to down and feathers.
